Littlehampton has again won the coveted Blue Flag and
Seaside awards for the excellence and
cleanliness of its beach and bathing waters. Patrolled
by lifeguards throughout the summer, the vast stretches
of gently sloping golden sand offer safe, carefree
bathing for all the family. Beaches are zoned and colour coded and free wristbands
that match the painted sections on the promenade guide
lost children back to their families, or assist our
foreshore officer in re-uniting groups.
Just
a few paces from the beach and the mouth of the river
Arun is Harbour Park, an all-weather adventure village
offering family fun for visitors of all ages.
Cross
the river to the West Bank and the scene changes again,
magnificent sand dunes that are designated a Site of
Special Scientific Interest and where an abundance of
rare plants and wildlife exist as nature intended.
Littlehampton retains a comfortable old-world charm,
which blends successfully with all the modern-day
Requirements of a thriving nautical town and community.
Pier road, with its shops and waterside restaurants, it
just a stroll along a captivating scenic riverside walk
which links with the town centre.
